A few limits apply on every plan: one channel of each kind per project, up to 4 request headers and 4 content rules per monitor, a request body of up to 8 KB, a heartbeat interval of up to 7 days, and API keys that expire within 90 days or never.
The monitor count includes paused monitors. The plan that applies inside a project is always the project owner's, so a Team project's members work with the owner's limits.
#When you reach a limit
Creating something past a limit fails with a clear error, and the dashboard offers an upgrade: monitor_limit, project_limit, domain_limit, seat_limit, or plan_required for a feature the plan lacks. See Errors. Nothing that already exists is affected.
Choosing an interval below the plan's minimum sets it to the minimum. Email alerts past the daily or monthly count wait until the next day or month, after one notice email.
#When you move to a lower plan
UptimeX does not delete what is over the new limits. It stops serving it until the account is back within them, and most of it comes back on its own when you upgrade again:
- Monitors. The oldest monitors up to the new limit keep running. The rest stop being checked and start again when the account is within the limit, within a day.
- Check interval. A monitor set to 1 minute runs every 5 minutes on the free plan. Its setting is kept and the faster interval returns on upgrade.
- Status pages and custom domains. Pages go dark on the free plan and return on upgrade. Beyond the domain limit, the oldest domains keep working.
- Team members. Invited members lose access while the owner is off the Team plan. Their memberships and roles are kept.
- Email channels. They stop sending. Push and the other channels continue.
- Maintenance windows. Beyond the limit, only the oldest live windows take effect.
- Incidents. New incidents are no longer recorded. Alerts still follow the default policy.
History is trimmed to the new retention
