Publish a status page
Learn how to publish a public status page, choose the monitors it shows, and read what visitors see.
This page explains how to publish a public status page for a project, choose what it shows, and read what visitors see. Status pages are part of Pro and Team. Each project can have one, managed from the project's Status page by the owner or an admin.
#Create the page
- Open the project's Status page and enter a page name of up to 40 characters.
- Choose Create. The page is published at once at
https://<handle>.uptimex.co, with a handle made from the name. - Copy the URL from the top of the settings and share it.
The handle is 3 to 40 lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens, unique across UptimeX. Change it in the Handle field. A few words such as www, api, status, and docs are reserved.
#Settings
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Published | On | Switch it off and the page returns 404 to everyone. The settings are kept. |
| Name | The page title. Up to 40 characters. | |
| Tagline | none | A line under the title. Up to 280 characters. |
| Handle | from name | The subdomain under uptimex.co. |
| Logo URL | none | An https image URL, shown at 75 by 75 pixels beside the title. |
| Uptime window | 90 days | 30, 60, or 90 days of daily bars per monitor. |
| Show uptime % | On | The uptime percentage under each monitor's bars. |
The page's history can only reach as far back as your plan keeps: 30 days on Pro and 90 on Team. Earlier days show as No data.
#Choose the monitors
Under Monitors, switch each monitor on or off, move it up or down with the arrows, and give it a public label of up to 40 characters, then choose Save monitors. The label replaces the monitor's name on the page, so internal names stay internal. A paused monitor is never shown. With no monitors chosen, the page shows every active monitor in the project.
#What visitors see
From the top:
- The logo, the name, and the tagline.
- A banner: All systems operational, Degraded performance, Partial outage, or Major outage. The banner follows the project's open incidents, so a monitor reads Operational until an incident opens, and a short blip never changes the page.
- Active incidents, each with its severity and its timeline of updates, newest first.
- Scheduled maintenance, each window as In progress or Scheduled with the services it covers and its times in UTC.
- One row per monitor: its label, its status (Operational, Degraded, or Down), and one bar per day of the uptime window. A day is red if any check that day was down, amber if any was slow, green otherwise, and grey with no checks. The uptime percentage counts a check as up only when it was up, not slow.
- Past incidents resolved in the last 14 days, grouped by day.
- A Powered by UptimeX footer and a light or dark switch.
Times on the page are in UTC. The page is cached for 60 seconds and does not refresh itself, so a visitor reloads to see a change.
Incidents and maintenance are project-wide
#Unpublish or delete
Switch Published off to hide the page while keeping its settings and domain. Delete removes the page and its monitor selection at once, with no confirmation step. Downgrading to the free plan hides the page without deleting it, and it returns when the project's owner is back on Pro or Team.
#What's next?
- Custom domain: serve the page from your own hostname.
- Incident lifecycle: the updates the page shows.
- Maintenance windows: the scheduled work it lists.
